The Dress

Well this blog is way overdue, but I figured I would post it anyway. One of my dreams has been to sew my own wedding dress. When I was a little girl I would watch my mom sew things, and I fell in love with sewing. Since then, I had the idea that I would love to one day sew my own wedding dress. I have had many ideas, but none stuck. When Andy and I started talking about getting married before we left for Africa I decided I needed to start sewing my dress. So the week before I went to Africa in November, I found some beautiful fabric at Ragtime (the fabric store downtown) and set to work. The dress idea didn't fully come to me until I started sewing, but finally it was quite clear what I would sew. I sewed for two days, and voila, I had a wedding dress. Here are some pictures of my sewing journey and the final product that I got to wear, but didn't quite get the attention that it deserved. My sewing area.
